The Cooling Principle of Truck Air Conditioning

In everyday life, there is the experience that when you use alcohol, you feel cold. This shows that when a liquid becomes a gas, it absorbs heat, which lowers the temperature. Truck Air Conditioning cooling uses this basic principle in three main ways.

1. when a liquid becomes a gas, it needs to absorb a lot of heat, and when the heat is absorbed, the temperature will decrease accordingly

2. the change in temperature is not only related to the heat contained in the object, but also related to the volume and mass of the object

3. The natural transfer of heat can only be transferred from a high temperature object to a low temperature object. If we want to radiate heat from the cabin of a car at 25°C to the outside of the car at 35°C, we must rely on mechanical equipment and electricity consumption. The truck Air Conditioning System uses the evaporation of refrigerant in the equipment to absorb heat from the air inside the vehicle, thus reducing the air temperature and achieving the purpose of cooling. The general refrigeration device mainly consists of a compressor, condenser, expansion valve, evaporator and connecting piping, and achieves four basic cycles of compression, condensation, pressure reduction, throttling and evaporation.


Compression process

After starting the truck's air conditioning system, the compressor starts to work under the power of the engine, driving the refrigerant to circulate in the sealed air conditioning system. The compressor compresses the low-temperature and low-pressure gaseous refrigerant flowing back from the evaporator into a high-temperature and high-pressure gas, which is discharged from the compressor.


Condensation process

The high temperature and high pressure formulation gas enters the condenser through the pipeline, dissipates heat in the condenser, the temperature decreases, condenses into liquid formulation, flows out of the condenser, enters the drier, and flows along the pipeline in a liquid state after being dried and filtered.


Throttling process

The temperature of the high pressure liquid refrigerant before entering the expansion is twisted high, and the refrigerant in this state is throttled and expanded in the expansion valve, and the pressure drops and evaporates into the gaseous state.


Evaporation process

When the refrigerant evaporates into the gaseous state, it needs to absorb a large amount of temperature of the air flowing through the evaporator in the car, so as to reduce the temperature and achieve the purpose of cooling. When the agent in the evaporator is completely evaporated and the temperature rises, the machine will not continue the cycle.

At the same time, when the hot and humid air meets the heat sink on the back of the cold evaporator surface, it will condense into water, which will be discharged from the evaporator to the outside of the vehicle.
