How Does the Truck Air Conditioning System Work?

Feb. 25, 2021

Summer is coming soon, and turning on the air conditioner when you get in the car will become the norm. If the air conditioner fails and cannot be used, the hot temperature will seriously affect the driving safety of the driver. If you can understand the structure and principle of the air conditioning system, it will help you quickly determine the cause of the air conditioning failure and speed up the progress of troubleshooting.

The air-conditioning system is actually a relatively independent system. It is not highly related to other automobile systems. Therefore, even if a failure occurs, it will be easier to troubleshoot the cause of the failure. The Truck Air-Conditioning Supplier recommends that friends with strong hands-on and learning abilities can do it by themselves try it

Air conditioning structure

Vehicle Air Conditioners mainly have three major components, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and other accessory components, including expansion valves, liquid storage dryers, pipes, condensing fans, blowers, temperature sensing bulbs, and so on.

The role of the main components

1.Compressor

Driven by the engine through the belt, its function is to suck in low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant vapor, compress it to the required pressure, and send it to the condenser, which is the power source for the entire air-conditioning refrigerant cycle. The higher the engine speed, the faster the refrigerant cycle and the greater the cooling power.

2. Condenser

The function is to transfer the heat of the high temperature and high pressure gaseous refrigerant to the outside air, so that the refrigerant is condensed into liquid. The condensation effect of the condenser on the refrigerant directly determines the cooling efficiency of the air conditioner.

There are usually three ways to improve the condensation effect:

a. Increase the flow of air through the condenser.

b. Reduce the temperature of the air passing through the condenser.

c. Keep the surface of the condenser clean and pollution-free.

3. Evaporator

Usually arranged in the cab, its role is to absorb heat from the cab, so that the liquid refrigerant absorbs heat and vaporizes into a gas.

4. Liquid storage dryer

The main role in the Air Conditioning System is to filter, dry, dehumidify and store excess refrigerant.

5. Expansion valve and temperature sensor

Generally installed on the evaporator, the temperature sensor is usually located at the outlet of the evaporator to detect the outlet temperature of the evaporator, automatically adjust the opening of the expansion valve, control the flow rate of the refrigerant, and control the stability of the cabin temperature
